Q: What is a Windshield Tear-Off?
A: Windshield Tear-Offs are DuPont Mylar Polyester protective film that is installed on a glass or lexan windshield. They come in single, double, or four-layer applications, which means that you can have multiple layers that are capable of being removed during the race.
Q: How much coverage will I have with my Windshield Tear-Off?
A: Coverage depends on the windshield itself. Some windshields have a banner that is placed on the top to promote a sponsor, which has to be accounted for, but we can accomodate most windshields. Please check the pre-cut kits section of our website for a list of available Windshield Tear-Offs.
Q: Will a Windshield Tear-Off effect my vision?
A: No. A Windshield Tear-Off is designed to protect your windshield and give you the best vision and optics possible. Multiple layers can be installed with little to no distortion, thanks to a patented scratch-resistant coating and trouble-free removable adhesive.
Q: Can any windshield have Tear-Offs made for it?
A: Yes. Most windshields are able to be fitted for a Tear-Off, however, there are instances where we don't have a particular windshield in our inventory to mold on. In such a case, we can almost always come up with the best possible solution for your Windshield Tear-Off Needs.
Q: How do I install my Tear-Off?

Warning: The edges of the film are very sharp and can easily cut you, so it's best to take your time!
Q: How hard is it to install a Windshield Tear-Off?
A: All of our Windshield Tear-Offs are heat molded and cut to fit the proper windshield, unless the windshield you need it for is not in our inventory. In such a case, you will need to order a "blank" kit.
Q: What tools will I need to install a Tear-Off?
A: You will need a few simple tools to complete your installation: a spray bottle w/ nozzle, 8" cleaner squeegee, and a 5 1/2" power squeegee. A knife/razorblade will also be needed for the job. All of these tools combined make up the Installation Kit which can be purchased here.
Warning: The razorblade/knife included in the installation kit is very sharp. Use with caution.
